Let’s Get Started!

Whew, Sis… is it just me or did summer fly by?!
Love my munchkin to pieces, but summer camp has me clutching my purse! I don’t know who’s more ready for school to start back — my child or ME.

Speaking of seasons, whether you’re getting your little ones ready for back-to-school or you’re clocking into your shift, this week’s post is a hug and a hype session rolled into one. Because YES, we can be children of God, mothers, and nurses — and do it confidently!

Let’s Talk About Confidence, Sis

Here’s the tea — confidence is a skill, not a personality trait. Nobody just wakes up radiating confidence every day. Especially not Nurse Moms who are juggling patient loads, spelling quizzes, and trying to keep their sanity intact.

You learn confidence by practicing self-compassion, giving yourself grace, and staying aware of how far you’ve come. Trust me — as a nurse who’s been in this game since 2016, and a mom navigating life one Kidz Bop song a at a time — I’ve been there.

The Imposter Syndrome is REAL… but so is your GROWTH

Whether you’re in a clinical rotation or starting your first job that voice of doubt loves to creep in.
“Am I good enough?”
“Do they think I know what I’m doing?”
“Am I messing up my kid’s life because I’m so tired?”

Sis. Pause. Breathe. Rewind.
You are not an imposter — you are a novice. And being a new nurse, doesn’t make you less worthy. It gives you the gift of fresh eyes and fertile ground to grow something powerful.

How Do You Build Confidence? Start by Journaling.

And good news? I made it easier for you. Grab your FREE Confidence Tracker download below  to start documenting your growth like the QUEEN you are.

You already track your patients’ trends and your child’s report card — but what about you?
You need receipts on your own progress, sis!

You can start with:

  • A cute back-to-school notebook
  • The Notes app on your phone
  • Or journaling apps like Rosebud AI Journal

The goal is to reflect, not perfect. Ask yourself:

  • Where am I struggling right now?
  • Why am I struggling in this area?
  • What’s one small action I can take to get better?

“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.” – Hebrews 10:35 (NIV)

Real-Life Example from Me to You:

I used to tell myself, “I’m too tired to wake up early.”
But when I dug deeper, I realized — I stayed up late watching TV for peace and quiet. Not because I was lazy, but because I had no margin during the day.

 My solution?

  • Put my child to bed on time with a hard stop.
  • Grocery shop on Thursdays and meal prep on Fridays with my favorite playlist.
  • Use PTO for self-care during school hours. (Yes, you read that right!)

Sometimes the breakthrough isn’t big, it’s just intentional.

Final Word of Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for the beautiful calling You’ve placed on my sister’s life — as a mother, a nurse, and a woman of faith. Remind her today that her confidence isn’t rooted in perfection, but in You. Help her see her progress, honor her needs, and boldly walk into the rooms You’ve prepared for her. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sis, you’re doing so much better than you think. Let’s keep building this confidence — one shift, one prayer, and one journal entry at a time.

Love ya!
