Hey Sis!
Whew… can we just take a moment?
First of all, thank you. Seriously.
I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for a year and a half. A whole year and a HALF?! God is so good. Your comments, your messages, your love, it truly means everything to me. It reminds me that this space, Rooted and Resilient, isn’t just words on a screen… it’s ministry.
And baby… this season? It’s been stretching me.
I’ve had to step back from the noise, from the world, and really pour into my relationship with God, my wellbeing, and my family. And YES … I’m choosing me right now. Call it selfish if you want, but I call it necessary obedience.
When God Says “Move”… It Hits Different
This week, we’re talking about something that has been hitting me full force:
When God calls you to move.
Not when it’s convenient.
Not when it makes sense.
Not when you have the whole plan laid out nice and pretty.
But when He simply says… “Go.”
And as Nurse Moms, let’s be real….we like structure. We like predictability. We like knowing the plan, the backup plan, and the backup to the backup plan!
But God?
He doesn’t operate like that.
“For we live by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)
So How Do You Know It’s God? Here Are 3 Real Signs:
1. God Is Gentle, Not Forceful
Let’s clear this up right now.
God is not chaotic.
God is not confusing.
God is not pressuring you into panic.
“For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.” — 1 Corinthians 14:33 (NIV)
So if what you’re feeling is anxiety, fear, and overwhelming pressure… pause.
That’s not His voice.
God’s voice is steady, loving, and peaceful …….even when it’s calling you higher.
2. He Will Make You Uncomfortable
Now THIS part… whew
Because why does God always call us out of our comfort zone?!
You finally get used to your routine… your job… your little safe space…
And then here comes God like:
“Yeah… it’s time to MOVE.”
Sis… the discomfort is not punishment.
It’s preparation.
“Consider it pure joy… whenever you face trials… because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:2-3 (NIV)
That storm you’re in?
That shift you didn’t ask for?
There is a reason for that season.
3. He Only Gives You the First Step
Now let’s talk about the part we don’t like…
God will NOT give you the whole blueprint.
I know. I don’t like it either!
But that’s where faith comes in.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” — Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
Notice it says a lamp… not a stadium light.
Just enough light for the next step.
And can I testify for a second?
Every time I’ve walked in alignment……even when I didn’t fully understand it….God has ALWAYS provided.
I’ve never gone without.
I’ve been fed.
I’ve been safe.
My bills? Paid.
Not because I had it all figured out…
But because I trusted Him anyway.
Sis… This Is Your Confirmation
If you’ve been asking yourself:
- “Should I leave this job?”
- “Should I start this new thing?”
- “Should I walk away from this relationship?”
Let me lovingly tell you…
MOVE!
Not recklessly.
Not emotionally.
But prayerfully and faithfully.
Because staying in a place God told you to leave?
That’s where frustration lives.
Find Comfort in the Discomfort
I know it feels scary.
I know it feels uncertain.
But there is something so powerful about saying:
“God, I don’t see it… but I trust You.”
“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.” — Matthew 17:20 (NIV)
That’s it.
That’s all you need.
Not a perfect plan.
Not all the answers.
Just faith.
Final Thought for this Week!
Sis… God is doing a new thing in you.
Don’t fight it.
Don’t delay it.
Don’t overthink it.
Step out!
Because on the other side of your obedience?
Is peace, provision, and purpose.
And I promise you…
God has never fumbled a life that was fully surrendered to Him.
If this blessed you, drop a comment, share it with another Nurse Mom, and let’s keep growing together!
With love,
Sanjé
