Nurse mom life is no joke—but sis, you don’t have to do it all. In this faith-based blog, learn why giving yourself permission to rest, ask for help, and lean into God is your key to peace and power.
Happy Monday, Sis!
You know what time it is—another week, another word of encouragement, and another cup of coffee (or tea). I’m Sanje, your big sis in faith and life, here to pour a little wisdom, sprinkle in some scripture, and give you that weekly push and a prayer you didn’t know you needed!
Let me be real: these weeks have been flying. Last week my little one had an injury that had me in full nurse-mom mode. It was a lot, but by God’s grace and your prayers, we are making it through. Thank you for the love, check-ins, and support—it means more than you know!
Sis, Here’s Your Permission Slip
This week’s topic? One word: permission.
Yes, ma’am. You have permission to rest, permission to slow down, permission to ask for help without guilt, and permission to let God carry what you’ve been trying to juggle all by yourself.
Sound radical? Maybe to the world it is. But in the Kingdom? It’s called wisdom.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
—Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
Let me say it louder for the people in the back: being a mom, a nurse, and a student are THREE FULL-TIME JOBS.
So if you’re wondering why you’re exhausted? That’s why. And that’s why this week, I’m officially handing you a permission slip to pause.
It’s Okay to Ask for Help (Even Jesus Had a Crew!)
I used to wait for people to offer help. I thought, “They can see I’m struggling, right?”
But sis, not everyone has that kind of discernment. Some folks assume you’ve got it all together because you make it look effortless (blame the lip gloss and caffeine ).
So here’s your reminder: you’re not weak for asking for help—you’re wise. Even Jesus didn’t do ministry alone—He had 12 disciples AND still made time to step away and pray (Luke 5:16).
Small Steps Toward Sanity
Let’s keep it simple. You don’t have to take a whole weekend off (though if you can—DO IT). Try one of these:
- Grocery Delivery or Curbside Pickup: Game. Changer.
- Call in a Trusted Babysitter (Friend or Family): Ask them to give you two hours this weekend.
- Take Yourself on a Solo Date: Sit at a cafe, bring your Bible or journal, and just breathe.
- Nap Without Guilt: You’re not lazy, you’re recharging.
And sis—don’t you dare say “my baby will miss me.” Because guess what? A rested, happy, and present mom is exactly what your child needs.
You’re Not Alone
“The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.”
—Psalm 29:11 (NIV)
You are not doing this life alone, and you’re not called to wear the cape 24/7. Let God step in. Let your community step up. And most importantly—let yourself breathe.

A Prayer for You, Sis
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for my sister reading this right now. Remind her that she is strong, but she doesn’t have to be everything to everyone. Give her peace that surpasses understanding, strength to ask for help, and clarity to slow down when her soul needs rest. Surround her with Your grace and renew her spirit as only You can. May she walk into this week rooted in faith and resilient in purpose. Amen.
Love you sis, now go take that nap… I mean, permission slip!
