Are you a single mom navigating nursing school or starting your career? Rooted & Resilient is your faith-filled space for support, laughter, and real talk. You are not alone — let’s walk this journey together.
Hey Sis, it’s me — Sanje!
Founder of Rooted & Resilient, lover of Jesus, mom, and full-time nurse who’s been through the fire — and didn’t smell like smoke after. (Okayyy, won’t He do it?!)
Let me tell you what brought me here, why I’m showing up for YOU every week, and why this blog is more than words — it’s a safe space for women like us who are doing the absolute most and still showing up.
Recap from this past weekend, I sat down and watched “Straw” on Netflix — whew.
Tyler Perry really knew what he was doing because BABYYYY, I cried like I was getting paid for it. That movie took me OUT. But when the tears slowed down, gratitude hit. God is so intentional with His vessels — and Mr. Perry, sir, thank you for making something that sparked awareness , conversations and shed light on the REAL challenges women face.
It reminded me why this blog even exists.
Let’s Talk About Us — The Working Single Moms
Shout to us! We are working, learning, studying, healing, and showing up.
Sis, let’s be real — society has NOT made it easy for us to thrive. And yet, here you are. Doing your best. Showing up at clinicals on 2 hours of sleep. Packing lunches, charting meds, wiping tears (some your child’s, some your own), and STILL trying to figure out how to hear God through all the noise.
This is why I’m here. This is why Rooted & Resilient was born.
Why I Created This Blog (And Why It’s for You)
Hi, I’m Sanje. I’ve been a nurse since 2016.
My journey includes mental health nursing, med/surg-telemetry, outpatient palliative care, and now nursing professional development. I’ve been the new grad nurse. The tired nurse. The broke nurse. The nurse-mom who cried in the car before her shift. I’ve worn the shoes, changed the shoes, and thrown the shoes across the room.
And what I learned is this:
Being a nurse is isolating.
Being a mom is isolating.
Being a nurse AND a mom? Without support? That’s burnout knocking at your door.
That’s why I created this space.
I’m here to be your hype woman. Your reminder that yes, you’re tired, but you’re also anointed. That you might feel overlooked, but you’re called. That just because it’s hard doesn’t mean you’re failing.
So, What Can You Expect Here?
- Encouragement: The type that speaks to your spirit and your situation.
- Tips: From someone who’s been there — nursing hacks, life advice, time savers.
- Faith: Scripture, prayers, and real reminders that God is in the thick of it with you.
- Community: Because we’re not doing this alone anymore.
Verse for This Week:
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
— Hebrews 10:35-36 (NIV)
Sis, read that again. Let it soak in. You don’t need to be perfect — just persistent. God sees you, and the reward is coming.
Let’s Pray:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for every mom reading this. Lord, You see her strength even when she feels weak. You know the pressure she’s under, the decisions she’s making, the sacrifices that often go unnoticed. I ask You to pour into her the peace that passes understanding. Remind her that she is never alone. May she find community here. May she find clarity in You. And may she keep going, not just to survive, but to thrive. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
You got this, sis. I’m rooting for you. Always!
With love,
Sanje
Rooted & Resilient
