Sis… the waiting room? Whew. Let’s talk about it.
The waiting season is not for the weak — it’s where discipline is forged, trust is tested, and your foundation in God either deepens or cracks. If you’ve found yourself praying for open doors in your career, relationship, or life circumstances and all you’re hearing is silence, know that you’re not alone — and you’re not forgotten.
I want to challenge you: don’t look back like Lot’s wife. Her story in Genesis 19:26 warns us what happens when we long for what God has already rescued us from. She looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. And let’s be real — some of us stay salty because we’re trying to reclaim what was never meant for our future.
This waiting season? It’s not punishment. It’s preparation.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” – Psalm 27:14 (NIV)
Waiting Is Work
People think waiting is passive — but it’s one of the most active seasons of your life. In this space, God is doing spiritual surgery. He’s pruning your habits, challenging your thoughts, and showing you the cracks in your trust. You’re learning how to:
- Be still without becoming stagnant
- Trust God’s pace, not your pressure
- Show up daily even when it feels like no one sees you
This isn’t just about holding out — it’s about building up.
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” – Romans 5:3–4 (NIV)
When Everyone Else Is Blooming
These last few weeks? Personally, they’ve been a lot. My close friends are moving across the country, some are having babies, others are graduating, building their dream lives — and I love that for them. I’m cheering, crying happy tears, buying gifts and showing up.
But between all that celebration… my prayer closet has been busy. Because deep down I’m like, Okay God… I know you didn’t forget about me.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re applauding others while wondering when it’ll be your turn — let me tell you something: their win is not your loss. Stay in your lane. Your blessing has your name on it. And comparison will only rob you of the peace you’re supposed to feel while preparing.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)
Getting Comfortable With Discomfort
Growth is uncomfortable. That’s not a cute phrase — it’s truth. You have to learn to sit in the unknown and still move with purpose. Get up, do your devotion, make your tea, go to work, mother your babies, and serve like your answer is already on the way.
Let discomfort be your confirmation that God is shifting something. Stay rooted in the Word and resilient in your hope. You’re not behind. You’re being built.
“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” – Luke 1:45 (NIV)
A Prayer for the Woman in the Waiting Room
God,
I thank You for the sister reading this. The one who is holding her breath while watching others bloom. The one who shows up anyway. The one who cries in the quiet and still says amen. Remind her that You see her. Strengthen her faith in the silence. Help her be disciplined while she waits and anchored while You work. She is not behind. She is becoming. And when the time is right, You will make it happen.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
You’re not stuck, sis. You’re just seated in the waiting room — and what God is preparing in you will be worth the wait.
If this blessed you, forward it to another sister. Let’s build faith together.
