Post at a Glance!
Feeling overwhelmed as a Nurse Mom? Learn 5 practical and faith-based ways to show yourself grace, stay organized, and thrive this week. This is your reminder to rest, plan, and lean on God (and your people!).
Let’s Begin!
Hey girly!!
The countdown to back-to-school is ticking—and baby, I am so here for it! Don’t get me wrong, I love my munchkin, but summer camp has been giving… expensive, exhausting, and never-ending!
Before we dive into this week’s goodness, I want to say THANK YOU for all the love on last week’s Confidence Tracker download! Your messages touched me so much—I’m honored to walk this journey with you. We’ve got more goodness on the way, but for now, let’s take a deep breath together. Ready?
This week, we’re focusing on self-compassion—aka showing yourself the same grace you give to everyone else.
Because let’s be honest… we are so quick to encourage others but leave ourselves running on E. And as Nurse Moms, we carry two full-time jobs—one with patients and one at home. It’s A LOT. So here are 5 ways to give yourself some grace this week, with a heavy scoop of Jesus:
1. Plan It Out
Lack of structure = instant overwhelm. Just because we’re grown doesn’t mean we stop thriving off routine! I don’t care if it’s on a planner, phone app, sticky notes, or a napkin—make a plan and stick to it.
“For God is not a God of disorder but of peace…” — 1 Corinthians 14:33 NIV
2. Lean On Support
Friends. Family. Your partner. Hired help. Whatever you need—delegate the rest!
You are not a burden, sis. You’re not weak for needing help. The strongest women I know don’t do it all alone—they strategize and ask for help with confidence.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 NIV
3. Go to Bed On Time + Wake Up Early
I know… scrolling at night feels like freedom. But that alarm the next morning? Straight betrayal.
Start winding down earlier and give your body the rest it needs. Waking up before the chaos (a.k.a. our children) gives you sacred time with God, your coffee, and your peace.
“Very early in the morning… Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”— Mark 1:35 NIV
4. Talk to Yourself Like You Would a Friend
If your best friend forgot to wash the uniforms or had a messy house, would you tear her down? Nope. So don’t do it to yourself. Be kind. You are doing so much and still showing up.
Try affirmations like:
“I’m not behind—I’m growing.”
“I’m not failing—I’m learning.”
“I’m not weak—I’m wise enough to pause.”
5. Celebrate the Small Wins
You got dinner on the table? Win.
You didn’t cry after work? Win.
You remembered bathing suit for water-day? MAJOR WIN.
Celebrate it all. God sees your effort, and so do I.
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…” — Zechariah 4:10 NIV
Sis, you’re carrying a lot—and still showing up with grace, love, and faith. Don’t forget to check in with yourself this week. Write your wins down. Rest without guilt. And remember: you’re not called to do it all alone.
A Prayer for You, Sis :
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the strength You’ve given us as mothers, nurses, and daughters of the King. Help us to pause and show ourselves grace. Let us not be moved by comparison or guilt, but by Your truth and love. Remind us that we are doing holy work—in the hospital and at home. In our weakness, be our strength. In our busy days, be our peace. We surrender it all to You.
Amen.
Let me know in the comments or on Instagram—which self-compassion habit are you focusing on this week?
Have a great week!!
Sanjé
