It’s Time for a ”Power Pause”: How Telehealth and Faith Can Restore Your Balance

Post at a Glance!

Nurse Moms, feeling overwhelmed by non-stop hustle? Explore how AI, telehealth, and the “Power Pause” trend can give you space, peace, and purpose—without losing your faith or your edge.

Let’s Get Started!

We are now in the month of August, and whew — summer has been summering! Between work, school prep for the kids, and the constant pull between being “Nurse You” and “Mom You,” it can feel like you’re in a race you didn’t sign up for.

But here’s the tea — the world is shifting, and so can you. In nursing, 2025 is bringing in new tools like AI and telehealth to lighten our load, and in motherhood, there’s a trending movement called the “Power Pause” — a fresh reminder that we don’t have to hustle every second to be valuable.

Today, we’re going to blend those two worlds and talk about how you, sis, can work smarter, protect your peace, and honor God in the process.

1. Nursing in 2025 – Big Changes, Big Opportunities

Here’s what’s trending right now in our profession:

  • Telehealth & Hybrid Roles → Flexibility is no longer just a dream. Virtual care, chart reviews, case management — all becoming more common for nurses.
  • AI Integration → Automated charting, patient education support, and predictive health tools mean less paperwork and more presence with patients.
  • Focus on Nurse Well-being → Healthcare systems are finally acknowledging burnout and creating programs to support us, not just the patients.

Sis, this means you have more options to work in ways that align with your season of motherhood. That’s a blessing. You don’t have to “do it all” in the traditional, 12-hour shift sense to still be an excellent nurse.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

2. The “Power Pause” – Not Quitting, But Resetting

This trending concept is so freeing. The “Power Pause” is when you intentionally step back — whether for an hour, a day, or a few months — to reset your priorities and recharge your soul.

It’s not weakness. It’s wisdom.

We’ve been told the only way to succeed is to keep going, even when we’re running on empty. But sis, that’s not Kingdom thinking.

Even Jesus rested. Even He withdrew to quiet places to pray.

A “Power Pause” can be:

  • Blocking out 30 minutes in the morning for prayer and coffee before the house wakes up.
  • Choosing not to pick up overtime this month so you can focus on your kids starting school.
  • Taking a short career break to explore a telehealth role that fits your family schedule.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

3. How to Blend Both – Your Career and Your Calling

Let’s put this into practice:

1) Seek alignment, not perfection — Look for roles (in-person or remote) that honor both your professional growth and your role as a mom.

2)  Journaling is your secret weapon — Keep track of your wins, your challenges, and your prayers. You’ll be amazed at how God has moved when you look back.

3) Protect your rest like it’s a shift on the schedule — Because it is. If you don’t clock into rest, burnout will clock in for you.

4) Delegate without guilt — Whether it’s grocery delivery, childcare swaps with another mom, or leaning on your a family member or friend— it’s okay to share the load.

5) Stay rooted in the Word — Your confidence, your wisdom, your patience — all of it flows from time with God.

Sis, you are not behind.

You are in your season. You are still a brilliant nurse, an incredible mom, and a beloved daughter of God — even if you take a pause.

So this week, I challenge you to claim your own “Power Pause.” Whether it’s 15 minutes or a career shift, do something that allows you to breathe, reflect, and reset.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

Prayer for this Week:
Father, thank You for new tools, new opportunities, and new rhythms that honor both my calling as a nurse and my role as a mother. Help me to embrace rest without guilt, and work with wisdom, not weariness. Give me the courage to pause when needed and the faith to trust that You are guiding my steps. Amen.

Have a great week!!!!
