How Understanding Your History Can Unlock Your Purpose and Success

Hey Sis!

First of all, I want to take the moment to THANK YOU for reading my blog, I know there are so many out there, and I am blessed that you are here!

We are officially in February—Black History Month! So let’s kick things off by honoring the shoulders we stand on. Our ancestors didn’t just survive; they thrived, breaking barriers so we could walk boldly in our purpose today.

It’s easy to get caught up in where we’re trying to go, but let’s pause to acknowledge how far we’ve already come. Every sacrifice, every lesson, every win—even the small ones—matter.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” – 1 Peter 2:9

Let’s take a moment today to write down three things we’ve overcome and three ways we can honor our history in our daily lives. Maybe it’s teaching our children about Black trailblazers, supporting Black-owned businesses, or simply walking with confidence, knowing we are made for greatness.

Your Weekend Assignment:
1️⃣ Write down three ways your family’s history or cultural roots have shaped you.
2️⃣ Set an intention to honor those who came before you this week—maybe through a small act of service or self-education.
3️⃣ Drop a “🙌🏾” in the comments if you’re claiming this year as one of boldness and purpose!

Let’s continue to walk in power, Rooted and Resilient! 💛

*Side note, this week, I am trialing shorter reads, since to give you more time to complete the assignment*
