Hey Nurse! Let’s Kickstart Your Week
Hey Nurse! I’m Sanjé your nurse bestie!
This blog is made by a nurse mom for nurse moms, because let’s be real—nursing AND motherhood is not for the weak. It’s overwhelming, sooo ghetto at times (can I get an amen?), and will constantly leave you wondering if maybe, just maybe, you could make a living selling feet pics instead of doing another shift. LOL.
But sis…you’re still here. Showing up for your patients. Showing up for your babies. And showing up for yourself, even when it doesn’t feel like enough.
I want to pause right here and give you your flowers. You’re doing it!
This week, I want to drop three small but powerful gems you can put into practice right away. Think of these as your “keep it moving” tools for when life feels like too much.
Three Small Gems to Keep You Going
1) Use Your Planner (For Real).
Listen, sis. If it’s not written down, it doesn’t exist. Your brain is already juggling meds, vital signs, carpool lines, and grocery list. Don’t let it hold everything. Write it down. Color-code it if you want. I promise, having your tasks in one place will make you feel 10 pounds lighter mentally.
2) Self-Care Doesn’t Have to Be Fancy.
We tend to think self-care is spa days and vacations (and yes, book those when you can), but everyday self-care is just as important. Drinking water. Stepping outside for 5 minutes of fresh air. Listening to your favorite podcast on the drive home. Don’t dismiss the small stuff. Compound effect…. it adds up!
3) Pray Without Ceasing.
Sis, get in that Bible. We have apps now, so there’s really no excuse. This weekend, I shared a study plan with a friend through the YouVersion Bible app, and it blessed me! Prayer doesn’t need a fancy set-up , sometimes it’s a quick “Jesus, help me” before walking into a shift. And He always hears.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” — Philippians 4:6 (NIV)
Sis, being a nurse mom will stretch you, but it will also shape you. You are learning resilience, compassion, and how to find joy in the middle of chaos. You don’t have to do it perfectly; you just have to keep going!
This week, celebrate the small wins:
- Did you pack lunch instead of ordering out? Win.
- Did you pray in the car before work? Win.
- Did your child smile when you walked through the door? Double win.
You’re building something beautiful in this season, even when it feels messy. And you’re not alone!
I’m walking this journey with you.
Prayer for the Week
Lord, thank You for every nurse mom reading this. I ask You to give her strength where she feels weak, clarity where she feels overwhelmed, and joy where she feels weary. Help her to lean into small moments of rest and remember that You are with her in every step of this journey. Cover her week with peace, productivity, and protection. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Have a great week sis!!!! Ohh and if you need some encouragement throughout the week, follow me on Instagram!
With love,
Sanjé
