From Survival to Abundance: Establishing a New Foundation in Faith

For so long, survival has been the goal.

Making it through the day, keeping food on the table, pushing through exhaustion, and just trying to stay afloat.

But sis,

What if I told you that God didn’t call you to simply survive—God called you to abundance?

John 10:10 says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

That means the bare minimum is not your portion. God desires for you to live in overflow, but stepping into that requires a shift—from a mindset of scarcity and struggle to one of abundance and trust.

What Does an Abundance Mindset Look Like?

Shifting into abundance starts with how you see yourself and your life. It means believing that:

  • You are worthy of good things—not just because you work hard but because you are a child of God.
  • Opportunities are available to you—not just to others, but to YOU.
  • God is your provider—your income, relationships, and circumstances don’t define your future, God does.
  • Joy and peace are yours—not something you have to earn, but something you are freely given.

Small Shifts That Lead to Abundance

If you’ve been in survival mode for years, shifting to abundance won’t happen overnight—but small, intentional changes will lay the foundation. Here are a few ways to begin:

  1. Speak Life Over Yourself
    • Stop saying “I’m just trying to get by” and start saying “I am walking in God’s provision.”
    • Replace “I can’t afford this” with “God is my provider, and He supplies all my needs” (Philippians 4:19).
  2. Celebrate Every Win
    • Survival mode makes you feel like nothing is enough. Abundance says, “Every step forward is a victory.
    • Create a gratitude journal—each night, write down three things God provided that day.
  3. Give Without Fear
    • Scarcity says, “I don’t have enough to give.” Abundance says, “There is more where that came from.”
    • Tithing, giving to others, or even sharing your knowledge freely creates an abundance flow.
  4. Make Room for More
    • Your time, your energy, and your space all reflect your belief in abundance.
    • Declutter what no longer serves you—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Make space for God’s best.
  5. Surround Yourself with Abundance-Minded People
    • Who are you listening to? Are they reinforcing survival mode or speaking life over your future?
    • Find a faith-filled community that challenges you to see beyond your current situation. (Good news: You have one here =))

How Do You Know You’re Moving in Abundance?

The shift doesn’t happen all at once, but there are signs that you’re leaving survival mode behind:

✔️ You stop feeling guilty for resting—because you understand that peace is your portion.
✔️ You make decisions from faith, not fear—knowing God is in control.
✔️ You experience joy in the present—even before you “arrive” at your next goal.
✔️ You trust that good things are happening for you—because they are!

Final Word: Step Into the Abundance God Has for You

This is your season of rebuilding, and it starts with shifting how you see what’s possible. God’s promises apply to you, too. No more barely making it—it’s time to thrive.

Take a deep breath, sis.

You are stepping into more.
