Faith, Healing, and Purpose: A Personal Q&A on Trusting God and Moving Forward

Happy Monday Sis!!!!!!!

This week, I am doing something different—stepping into the hot seat to answer real questions about faith, healing, and walking in purpose. I pray that my journey encourages you and reminds you that you are not alone.

Let’s get into it!!!

What is one of the hardest lessons you’ve learned on your healing journey?

One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is that you can’t take everyone with you. I love to help others, and it brings me joy, but I have come to understand that not everyone is ready to grow or embrace change. That is not my burden to carry.

Instead of trying to pull others along, I have learned to surrender them to God in prayer. God is the only one who can change hearts, and sometimes, the best thing we can do is step back and allow God to work.

“Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company ruins good morals.’” – 1 Corinthians 15:33

How do you balance faith and taking action?

Faith without works is dead.”(James 2:26)

I ensure that GOD is at the center of my life every day. That means starting my mornings in devotion and prayer, filling my heart with worship music, and surrounding myself with other believers who encourage my spiritual growth.

We are not meant to walk this journey alone. Being in a Christ-centered community strengthens faith and keeps us accountable to the work God has called us to do.

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” – Proverbs 16:3

Have you ever struggled with feeling unworthy?

Yes. I have to remind myself daily that I am enough in Christ.

Reframing thoughts takes intentionality. The world constantly tells us that we are not doing enough, not achieving enough, or that we need to fit into unrealistic standards. But God’s word says the opposite.

We were created by God, which means we are:

  • Fearfully and wonderfully made
  • Designed with a purpose
  • Fully known and loved by God

When we remind ourselves of these truths, we can shift our focus from seeking approval in the world to walking confidently in the identity God has given us.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” – Psalm 139:14

Can you share a time when God showed up for you?

One of the most profound moments in my life was during the darkest part of my abusive relationship. One night, the situation escalated to a level I had never experienced before, and I truly thought I would not make it out of my apartment.

But God.

There is no explanation for how I made it out safely other than the grace and power of God. That experience changed my life forever. I give all glory to God because I know that I would not be here today without God’s protection.

On a daily level, I see God’s presence in the simple moments—a kind word from a stranger, the beauty of nature, or a scripture that speaks to exactly what I need to hear. God is always near.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

How do you stay creative and consistent, even when you don’t feel like it?

I don’t rely on motivation because motivation is an emotion, and emotions change constantly. Instead, I have built systems that help me stay consistent.

For example, I know I thrive when I wake up early in the morning, but I also love my sleep. To help myself, I place my alarm clock across the room, so I have to physically get up to turn it off. Right next to my alarm, I set out my workout clothes—removing any excuses.

When it comes to creativity, I had to address the root of my hesitation—fear of rejection. I realized that self-doubt was holding me back from stepping into the work God has placed on my heart. Now, I remind myself that what I create is not about me—it is about serving the women who need to hear it.

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” – 2 Timothy 1:7

What advice do you have for women, especially mothers, who feel stuck?

First, take a mental health day. Step away from your daily responsibilities and spend intentional time reflecting.

What to do:

  1. Go to a peaceful place (a café, park, or library)
  2. Bring a journal, your Bible (or app), headphones, water, and a snack
  3. Ask yourself these three questions:
    • Am I okay?
    • Are my duties/tasks/projects aligning with my values/goals?
    • What can I take off my plate?
  4. Pray

As women, mothers, and caregivers, it is easy to carry too much. But we do not have to. We are not called to do everything alone. Learning to delegate and surrender our burdens to God brings clarity and peace.

“Cast all your anxiety on God because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

I pray this Q&A has encouraged you. If you are on a journey of healing, faith, and stepping into your God-given purpose, know that you are not alone.

Let’s keep this conversation going!

What I love most about your blog is that even though it’s created for the woman of faith, the concepts you outline can apply to all. Thabk you for your insight. I loved how you said you don’t rely on motivation, but instead systems to keep you on track. This is such a valuable perspective!

Thank you so much Nicky for your feedback!!!! There is room for everyone and yes! Systems produce consistent outcomes! If we just waited for the “motivation” to “come to us” then we will be sitting like a duck LOL. Take action and be bold!
